NEW YEAR, NEW PASSION
NEW YEAR, NEW PASSION
I began studying music and dance at a very young age but, early on, I also realized that teaching was my passion. At the age of seventeen, I began teaching at a local music and dance studio. I gained valuable insight and expertise and managed that business for many years.
Knowing my path, I simultaneously went on to earn four Bachelors Degrees, including two in Music and Dance, respectively, from Hunter College. From there, I completed my Masters of Education at Concordia University.
For the last decade, I have also taught as a media and research specialist, and music educator at private and public schools. I look forward to sharing my love for education and the arts with students through my new endeavor, Play it by Ear.
I am a strong believer that everyone has a gift. I often compare the lessons learned in music and dance to life, in that everyone is responsible for their part. However, when performed together, the result is overwhelmingly beautiful and powerful.
I am empowered every time a student achieves that which they were unsure they could. I believe it is my honor to teach students and to help them find their own passion and path in life.
I offer both group and private lessons, tailored to the learning pace and abilities of each student. Available class structure and pricing are found in Book a Lesson. Play it by Ear offers both in person and remote lessons (the perfect option for long-distance students). Musical instrument, dance style and academic tutoring areas are listed in Class Information.
Lessons at Play it by Ear adhere to the belief that with hard work and practice, anything is possible. I strive to build rapport with my students to ensure that they are confident in what they can achieve.
Please pardon the appearance, some sections are still in the making!
